The Corydon Palmer Dental Society (CPDS) kicked off its 100th anniversary celebration during a recent luncheon, where Dr. Donald Brunetti, a member of the St. E’s general dentistry staff and St. E’s dental clinic faculty member, was installed as the 2013 president.
The CPDS was established in 1913 is comprised of dentists from Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties, who work to improve access to dental care in the communities they serve. CPDS members actively participate in programs, such as Give Kids a Smile Day, Dental OPTIONS and Access Health Mahoning Valley.
“Corydon Palmer is to be complimented for its cohesiveness and strength, as well as its proud history and commitment to better meet the needs of the underserved patients in the Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana county area,” said Dr. Robert Faiella, president of the American Dental Association, who presided over the installation ceremony.
Dr. Brunetti is proud of the strong membership of the CPDS, which surpasses the national average, and looks to continue the group’s founding mission. “Our proactive participation in access to oral health care, through Access Health Mahoning Valley and other programs is in direct confluence with the ADA goals,” he said. “Our dentists have traditionally responded to the need for services by donating their time to serve the underprivileged.”
The installation ceremony was the first in a year-long series of programs to commemorate the establishment of the CPDS.
