Magnet Recognition - Nursing Services | | |

St. Elizabeth Health Center and St. Joseph Health Center were the first hospitals in Ohio to be designated as Magnet facilities in 2002. At the time, they were 53rd and 54th in the United States to receive this prestigious award – which is the gold standard for nursing excellence. The two hospitals were re-designated in 2006 and again in 2011. In addition, St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center (SEBHC) achieved Magnet recognition in 2011.
The Magnet Recognition Program® was developed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to recognize health care organizations that provide nursing excellence. The program also provides a vehicle for disseminating successful nursing practices and strategies. Recognizing quality patient care, nursing excellence and innovations in professional nursing practice, the Magnet Recognition Program provides consumers with the ultimate benchmark to measure the quality of care they can expect to receive. For more information on Magnet, contact Nancy Siefert, RN, Magnet program director, at 330-480-3371 or nancy_siefert@hmis.org. To find out more, visit the American Nurses Credentialing Center |
